With Image Studio's 'resize canvas' feature you can make sure your images are perfectly sized for displaying your products across different platforms, channels, and devices.
Resize and crop imagesLink copied!
You can use just the section of an image that you want, by resizing the canvas and cropping out the unwanted parts.
For instance, we can create a new image from only the highlighted part of the image below.
The new image is created by setting the canvas dimensions, choosing an "Anchor" position, and then centering the image. This will create the required image at the correct size.
For more information, see Resize and crop images.

To adjust an image and ensure that the entire image is shown in the new canvas size, you can use the "Fit" positioning mode.
For example, the background of this image is too large and needs to be resized to have canvas dimensions of 2048 px x 2048 px.
We want the entire image to be included in a new canvas size of 2048 px by 2048 px, so the positioning mode is set to "Fit".
The resulting image is the correct size.
For more information, see Resize and fit to canvas.
Resize and cover canvasLink copied!
To adjust an image to match a certain canvas size, use the "Cover" positioning mode in Image Studio.
The "Cover" positioning mode maintains the size of your image within the new canvas size, and as a result some of your image may be cropped.
Here's an example of using "Cover" mode, to adjust an image for use as a desktop website banner. The recommended dimensions for the banner are 1200 x 400 pixels, and our existing image is too large to use.
First set the Width to 1200px and the Height to 400px. This displays an outline of the new size of the canvas in relation to the existing image canvas:
To retain the original size of the image subject, we'll choose the "Cover" positioning mode, even though it slightly crops our image around the edges.
The final image has the new canvas size of 1220 x 400 pixels, ready for the desktop website banner.
For more information, see Resize and cover canvas.
Rotating imagesLink copied!
With Image Studio you can rotate images, by positioning the cursor slightly away from the image corner until the "rotate" arrow displays.
To rotate in 15 degree increments, hold down the Shift key as you drag.
You can rotate an image when it doesn't have any layers, that is, its background hasn't been changed.
You can also rotate foreground layers that have been created by changing the background.
For more information, see Rotating images.
